Song Of The Day - Chapel Club "Sleep Alone"

"After holing themselves away for months in London and LA, Chapel Club return with an introduction to their forthcoming album 'Good Together'." So sayeth Chapel Club's description under the video for their new single "Sleep Alone". There's something about this track which sounds faintly oriental and like it wouldn't be entirely out of place on one of those Chilled Ibiza albums.

You can download this single from the band's website for NOTHING. That's right, this is freebie. Whilst you're downloading, give 'Jenny Baby' (a song allegedly inspired by Ms. Jennifer Lopez), 'Scared' (a track about growing up) and the title track 'Good Together' (bourne of the hearbreak of making up and breaking up) a listen. They're being streamed on the site for our aural pleasure via the London five-piece's Soundcloud page. I have a feeling 'Good Together' will make for some cracking summer drive listening.

Some Things For The Weekend

The Night Out
Let 'Warrior' featuring Kimbra (off of Somebody I Used To Know), Mark Foster (off of Foster The People) and A-Trak (off of producing and that) get you into a synth-y, 80s, feelgood party mood.

The Morning After
Whilst you're nursing your hangover, have the Bombay Bicycle remix of Little Talks by Of Monsters And Men. Perfect, easy, Sunday listening.

Song Of The Day - Bat For Lashes, "Laura"

Making it's debut as Zane Lowe's "Hottest Record In The World" on his Radio 1 show last night, "Laura" signals the melodic, melancholic and heart-wrenching return of Bat For Lashes.
Singer and multi-instrumentalist Natasha Khan spoke to the DJ, confirming that her third album "The Haunted Man" would be released in October of this year after having started work on it back in 2010.

"Laura" is available for download now on iTunes and "The Haunted Man" is released on the 15th October.

Mumford & Sons release new album details

After what seems like an age after the release of Sigh No More, the folkish, barn-storming troubadours Mumford & Sons have finally gone public with details of their next album.
Set to be released on the 24th September this year, Babel will feature 12 tracks from the group.
The album art looks wonderful and I for one am eagerly waiting to hear a sample of their new material.
(For the full tracklisting and details of their US and Australian and New Zealand tour, head to their website.)

Song Of The Day - New Look, "Nap On The Bow"

If you like your music minimalist, chilled, synthed and classy, this track is definitely one for you. New Look, a Toronto-based duo consisting of vocalist Sarah Ruba and 'multi-instrumentalist' Adam Pavo (who are married, coincidentally. Aawwwh...!) met in 2005, recorded some demo tracks before recording their full EP "How's My Hair?". The self-titled album, released in the autumn of 2011 (and therefore available now if you want it. I know, I'm late to the party on this one) took three years to record, taking the couple to Brooklyn, Berlin and Ontario and even on tour with The XX.

For more information, check out their WEBSITE where you can also sign up to the mailing list and receive a free download of an album track.
